Year End Bash

We had two exciting celebrations for the year end, which we will be repeating for many years to come.

Max turned 3 on 28th Dec, but we had a nice barbecue party on the 27th at Ah Ma's house. It was pretty much a family do, with the special presence of a few friends.

Oh, we were all just so excited over the presence of our friends and the presents and the cake... that the only shots taken were from Max's uncle's camera.

Then on the 29th, we had a nice sit-down dinner at a Chinese Restaurant to celebrate Ah Ma's birthday.

We all sat and ate the meal like for the longest time, but everyone had fun, especially the kids playing with the karaoke set, singing Happy Birthday to Ah Ma until we had to tell them to "SING SOMETHING ELSE".

The food was good, and the cake was just a drool!
But it really ended at almost 11pm. We were actually later than a wedding dinner that was held in the main hall (they gave us a private room).

Just less than 24 hours to a new year...
Time sure flies....

P/s - Thank you everyone, for such wonderful presents.

Doing The Touristy Thing.

On Boxing Day, my niece declared she wanted to go up to the Kuala Lumpur Tower. It's a structure we could see everyday whenever we journeyed out of Ah Ma's house.

So we all had a visit. It was the first time for all of us except Gadget-daddy who had been there a couple of times before for his company function.

So we paid the fees (RM38/adult for a package), got our paper binoculars and headed up.

There were actual binoculars for anyone's use at the observatory deck. Gadget-daddy showed the boys where our house is located.

The other attractions there were the winterland display
(terribly disappointing as everything is just cut out of Styrofoam and plastered with cotton and silver dust, and it's in the open air of which, knowing our weather, was just swealtering hot and nothing like winter) ...

... and an animal expo, called the Animal Zone.
This was actually quite good.

We all had a couple of breaks for the kids mainly.

By the time we were done, all the children and adults were exhausted but happy.

For me, there was just one tinge of sadness.

This bird's eye view shows where my school used to stand - now just a horrid red patch of dirt under construction.

Yeap.
The wonderful old building of St. Mary's Secondary School,
and also the primary school, the fields, the old bungalow on stilts and our small canteen
no longer exists.

Photos Show And Tell

Nine days away and we are glad to be home, especially the boys who are somewhat home bodies.

Anyway, here are some of the shots we took from our hols:

We had a good time at the beach in Bintan.
Although it rained the whole day we were there on the first day, The next two days were pretty sunny.

Max was our crab spotter, ...

and
Micah had a ride on a horseback,

and aided archery.
We also did have quite few good time out in Singapore itself:
Joseph Bala's Garden (beside NUS)

Pasir Ris Park

Glad we had a pretty smooth journey there and back.
The boys slept most of the journey home.

And now my sister and her kids are in town till end of the year.

So it's our turn now to be playing host. :)

Slow to Blog

We got back from our holiday last Friday, but I could not post anything up because Gadget-daddy was fixing our glitch on our Mac.
Basically, we ran out of Hard disc space and he finally had the time to go get us some more "space".

Anyway, Thank you all for the well wishes.

I was trying to put some of the holiday shots up on the blog, but it's taking ages to get it up... it could be the new set up on our computer or just the problem with the internet...

So, so sorry, folks. Will have to try at another time... when Gadget-daddy's not asleep so that I can complain and see if he can do anything about it.
Hehehe...

Well, Good night.

Off We Go

We are still packing - charges for various gadgets and phones, some toiletries.

We still have a couple of errands to run - to the P.O and the bank before picking my mom

Need to remember to put the kid's vitamins into the medication box.

Have to do a quick reply to a Christmas card from UK - send snail mail with a family photo to some dear friends.

The boys are now choosing which of their toys they are bringing. Mommy to make sure they don't bring everything.

But we are going toff to Singapore today!!

Might get to blog, might not, but we'll have lots to show and tell when we get back in 9 days' time.

Already loaded 3 bags of stuff into the booth last night, but that does not include our main luggage (clothes) and a few must-haves...

See ya later, Alligators.

Watching TV With Daddy

My boys are watching Zorro on TV with their daddy.

So this is probably their first exposure to sword fighting, some fancy horse riding and dynamite blasting.

At the end, I over heard Micah asking his daddy why they were fighting.
And Daddy explained about having to fight off the bad people and rescue the people who were trapped.

I remember when I was very young, maybe four or younger, I'd sit on my daddy's lap and joined him on his favourite cowboy show on our black and white TV:

Bonanza!
(Thanks to Google, you can find and refresh almost any bit/bits of your memories!!)

Anyone remembered this?
:)

Actually, I only remembered the intro of the show, the fire part and the men riding together.
The music, too, of course, but don't recall any of the show itself.

MIA And Some Updates

Sorry I was MIA for a while.
We had a little glitch on our hard disk, and it made it impossible to do anything on our computer.

So the boys and I have been playing quite a lot of cars and race cars and more cars...
And Gadget-daddy takes them out to the park almost every evening.

Latest "big"event was that Micah actually dug out his tooth's filling 2 days back and complained of a toothache for a whole day. But now the nerves seemed to have gone numb and he's back to his usual self.

We are wondering if it's going to act up while we are away on holiday next week on for a week...
Sigh.

The Littlest one in me is growing.
Now I find it really hard to bend over my bathroom counter to brush my teeth.
Fern also noticed my blouse was getting tight around the belly last Sunday. :)
I am now craving for pizzas and tortillas.
French fries with ketchup smelled so good the other day when we walked past McDonald's at a mall.

We are looking forward to a holiday with my mom, bro and older sis and her family.
We will head down to Singapore for a week and in between, down to Bintan for 2 nights.
Must do something exciting before another baby to fuss over, demanding some 120% of attention.

Brain now working overtime on some gathering for former schoolmates and a small party for Max's birthday.

So Gadget daddy has finally uploaded Micah's school concert and Christmas party onto the internet.

It's a lot of work and very time consuming, editing and waiting for the videos to be loaded.

Thanks you, Daddy dear. These are real good record for our kids.
:)
I would not have known how to do it.
