Pretty Much Today

This was Today :

We pretty much took it slow in the morning. The boys woke up about the same time as Daddy, so they got to see him and say good-bye to him. Then they had their breakfast and watched a bit of cartoon in the morning. After that we got to my mum's to pick up my sis (but she was just going to feed their new puppies, so the boys had a bit of play-time in Ah Ma's garden and with the pups) and headed for her workplace.

Our aim was actually to have lunch at Marco's Pizza. I bought this offer deal which has a whole bunch of coupons and we decided to start using them. We have always enjoyed the food there. So it was a good lunch. Plus, there is a play area for the kids and today we were pretty much the only ones there.

Then we got back and Max and I napped but Micah did not, so by the time he came and woke us up, I had to start filling the day for Micah so that he won't fall asleep like in the late evening and then don't sleep till past mid-night. No more of that, Thank you.

So Mommy got busy preparing daddy's birthday present and the boys had a session on using the scissors. It was Max's first "class". (He actually did pretty well, but you can see the forefinger had a red mark after that.)

Then we did some painting, which ended up the boys pouring water all over the paper and car porch instead.

So they had an early bath-tub time because they were already wet from the "painting" session.

After that we took a walk in the back lane to look for some bugs, but not very successful in our hunt.

So we resorted to going to the park by car because it looked like it was going to rain. (Desperate Mommy just want to get them to do something on their feet, or Micah is sure to fall asleep on the couch.)

We had a good time and after all the running, Micah was able to sit up for a while more for his dinner. Then he asked for milk about 8pm and fell asleep on the couch in front of the TV.

Max and Mommy had some time to ourselves to read a book he chose, watched a little of Finding Nemo and then he nursed and slept.

By the time I got the laundry done, I looked at the clock and couldn't believe it: 10pm ONLY!!!

The night is still So young! If only I am guaranteed the boys will not wake up for anything, I'd have gone out to meet my sis for teh tarik. But kids are unpredictable. So I am home.

Such is the life of a mommy.

Birthdays

Just for record: These were the birthdays the boys had a great time at. Mostly because they got to blow the candles and enjoyed the cake.

Uncle Kurt's Birthday was done with a dinner at Dragon-I and then cake at home on 16 Dec 2008.

Max's birthday was in Melbourne, at uncle Frank's.

We celebrated Ah Ma's birthday with a nice lunch at Tai Tong Royal China on 1 Jan 2008.

(Oops, did not take any photos here.)

We celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday on the 4th Jan in Ah Ma's house.

Up coming birthday: DADDY's!!

Faithfulness

This week Gadget-daddy* and I had a serious take on our plate.

Someone close to us had a "fling" and the spouse found out.
One of Gadget-daddy's cousin sister found out her husband has a second wife.
A very close family friend had stayed on with an unfaithful spouse even after many affairs.
Affairs and divorces.

Some found themselves/ their spouse changed because of a changed situation, often in relation to some kind of success. They want more "excitement" in their lives.
Some felt they got more attention from the other person than their spouse.
Some did it out of spite and jealousy.
Others simply got careless and took their love ones for granted.

It was heartbreaking for us. It was heartbreaking to see the people we care, our love ones, in pain. It was especially hard to swallow when it came to people we thought we knew and "this" was so out of their character.

Conclusion:
Don't take anything for granted.
It can happen to people we look up to. It can happen to any one walking down the street. It can happen to you.

Guard the things you hold most precious.
Don't forget what is precious. Don't mistake what is paste for something precious.

For ourselves:
We decided to stay in love.
We want to grow old together.

Let Sleeping Babies Lie

This just happened. Mike was so amused that he called me in such an urgent voice and I rushed upstairs. He met me at the top of the stairs with a smile and told me to go look at my son.

I found him...

Daddy took the shots. And this was like a minute just before!

Poor baby... He was exhausted after a full morning of activities and while Mommy attended to koh-koh, he tried to get some more entertainment, but Nap-time got the better of him.

Yes, we put him snug into his hammock cradle after that and he slept for two hours.

Moomykin

4 January 2007

3. What was your first title?
At Last!!

4. Which posting you feel is the best post so far?
Funny: Actually inspired by the plastic apple in my shoes and a toy in the fridge.
You Know There Are Kids @ Home When...
and
My Son Thinks that I am God
Serious: Thoughts from the heart.
Forgiveness

5. Who promote/source of inspiration for you to blog?
My boys

6. When dya usually post entries?
When the boys are asleep. Either in the middle of the night or when they are having their nap.

7. Where would you prefer to be when you are blogging?
Can't be anywhere else but in the room where the computer is. Would love it to be by the sea or in a little cottage far away... but that's more like for writing a novel....

8. Have you met other bloggers? Who?
Practically all on my Blog buddy list, except for Ann, Daddy-Yah and Toddlerdaddy.

9. How many entries you made in a month? Average
8-9 there about...

10. Would you reveal your face or your family in your blog? Why?
Yes. Blogging is more like keeping a record for my kids. Some parents keep a journal of milestones, etc. I just keep our records here. They'll be able to check out what they/we were doing in their growing years years from now and I don't have to worry about where I had stashed these records. No worry about clutter and house moving too.

11. Would you promote your friends to blog? Why?
Well, I'm not the promoter kind when it comes to how you want to do things, especially when I feel this is a very personal preference of sharing infos and updates with others, i.e. your family and friends. I'd rather promote breastfeeding, quality time spent with kids, i.e. at the Science Center or reading with them, creative play, enjoying nature and helping moms get to a playgroup or other mom's group.

12. Would you feel restless/guilty conscious/incomplete if you didn't blog for a month?
Just feel a loss of records. It's become like homework/assignments. Sometimes when the week's been like any-other-day and I feel a need put something up because the boys are just so funny and adorable. Plus, they grow so fast I think I will miss something if I blinked.

13. Define blogging.
My babies' record book/ My memory bank statement/ Flaunting my kids' cuteness/Show and Tell... you get what I mean.

Aussie Time Hurrah!!

We've been back almost a week and so far they boys have kept to their Aussie time zone quite well.

Max is all ready for bed by 9pm and will fall asleep before 10pm. Micah will then get his teeth brushed and climb into bed with Mommy and falls asleep before 11pm (with other interruptions of wanting to wash his hands because he picked his nose, get his back scratched and have some milk and some water after that).

Usually I will fall asleep with Micah and then wake up like at 4am or thereabout and try to go back to sleep. I have been too tired to sit and blog because the days have been quite eventful as my sister and her 2 kids from Singapore are back this week. So while the boys take their nap as usual, I have other things to see to and don't get to nap. Hence I sleep through the night - I hear this is suppose to be the normal thing...

Anyway, these days the boys wake up about 7.00-7.30 am which is also great because it means they get to see Daddy and say goodbye to him before he disappears for work for the rest of the day. Sometimes, if he is not in a rush, they even get to take breakfast with him. Super!!

Playgroup starts this coming week. We shall be early!!

Yeah, no Kindy for Micah just yet. Still gotta work out his separation anxiety. Hope to get him in by June when he turns 4. Think that'll be better.

Now must get back to bed...
