Romantic Men

Back on the romantic topic...

These are just a couple of the romantic things other men had said to me...

Not romantically directed to me, but this:

1. Tell your love story.

This man said this to me once when I asked how he met his wife. First he said,
"It's always good to tell your love story when other people ask, especially the men, so you don't for get how you met the one you love...."

2. Say "I love you" for her benefit.

This was in a sermon, talking about family relationships, spouse in particular.
"Sometimes the man don't say this because you assume your wife has heard it already and you don't need to say it again. After all you have not changed how you felt. Well, she needs to know how you feel., even if it's the same for the last 40 years. Go tell your wife you love her."
(Btw, this pastor is in his 70s.)

These were two things about romantic love that really struck me.

Such a hard topic for me to comment on because you know toddlerdaddy and I are always joking around rather than being serious...

So here is a story that combines both romance and our usual silliness. When toddlerdaddy lost his wedding ring on our honeymoon (umm yes, long story) he went out of his way to go to another island to organise another wedding ring so that he didn't spend a day without one. No small task in a non English speaking place!

They're funny creatures, t he male of the species. THey much prefer to show us that they love us rather than saying the words...

hissychick,

I know what you mean by they rather show it than to say it, but different people are different. For us we like to say it. For some women too they find it easier to show love thru action. The thing is our spouse should know what are the things that will assure us we are appreciated and loved, and do that.

For all the things toddlerdaddy has put up on his blog, I can tell he loves the family very very much.

p/s- I think for all your days together there'll not be one that is without laughter, even if it's not laughed out loud. ;)
Cheers!!

Hi Kathie, interesting post this.
I guess romantic love reaches out in little ways, showing attention and admiration. Romantic love remembers what pleases a woman, what excites her and what surprises her.
Its actions whisper, 'you are the most special person woman in my life'.
And again, love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.
Believe it or not, most men are shy in saying, "I love you".
As for me, not a week passes by when I don't tell or whisper to my wife, she's 62, still looking as gorgeous as the day I met her, same figure too...that I love her.
Sometimes at the breakfast table, when I make breakfast for her. Or at a restaurant.
And if she wears something nice, I whistle and tease, "hi gorgeous", or, "you sure one very attractive lady".
30 plus years with her and I love her like that night I proposed to her at the E&O Penang, ha ha. Lee.

Uncle Lee,

I know you'd have lots of sweet words for your lovely wife, but making her breakfast may just take the cake..or bacon. ;)

Well, I am so glad you guys are still so in love. That's just beautiful. :)

ann,

Oh, just thought running on the same line.

I wanted to post this up earlier, but I was trying to think if there was anything else that struck me... After two days I decided to just put this up.

Well, hope you and your hubby can have some romantic time together. Easier now while boy boy is still small. When our boys see us cuddling in bed, they both want to go in between and all us "the sandwich." :)
