The following was the conversation we had before Gadget-daddy dropped off to sleep.
We had a long day, full, good and tiring.
Me: Thanks dear for taking us around today.
G-d: Sure. It's good to be home. It was fun to be with the boys.
Me: Yes. They are quite fun to be with... if not they'll be fighting.
So that's the status of our boys right now. Either just fun or just fighting.
Sometimes it's like a mile of milti-coloured carpet rolled out:
Fun: Playing trains together
Fight: Don't crash my trains! You don't play nicely. MaaaX!
Fun: Here, koh-koh, chocolate milk. You want one?
Fight: That's mine! You finished it!
Fun: Look! It's your favourite: Cars.
Fight: I want to watch Cars again. No I want to watch Pocoyo. No it's scary. No it's not scary, it's funny.
Fun: can I kiss your hair? Let me give you a bear hug!
Fight: No! Don't knock the tower down! But it's dominos. No! No! Waaaah!!
Fun: Swing me high. Swing me too!
Eventually it all ends in Zzzzz and then Mommy can finish up some chores and come talk about her day with daddy and her friends on cyber-space.
A day with the kids is like an emotional yo-yo.
And you've got to yo-yo with them too.

:) yo yo huh? wait till they are in their teens...it's going to be more like a roller coaster ride...
You take the good, you take the bad, you take it all and then you have....the fact of life! The facts of life!
:)
Sounds like my household, where:
"I wanna watch Animax!"
"No! I wanna watch AXN (CSI)!"
.. between Hot Mummee and I!
a gift from god,
Well, it's a yo-yo because one moment they are all "I love you" and the next "I don't like you anymore".
You just have to switch with them and sometimes that is really emotionally exhausting.

ann,
Kids will be kids. Even my siblings and I used to fight and play all the time, all at the same time.
Send them to bed early. hahahhahhaa.. works for me I guess :) then anytime after 730pm-8pm there is blissful peace...
jlow,
hahaha... Good one.
Gadget-daddy and I hardly fight over the TV, I just watch whatever is on and if its too boring or too scary I go do something else...like blog! :)
Lia,
Yeah, splendid if you can get them to bed early.
Micah is suppose to start school this term. it's gonna be tricky getting him to bed early and out early too.
Mommy under pressure. Lol!
Getting them to bed early IS a real tricky one.
This holiday was a very welcomed break- it allowed Caitlin to catch up on some sleep. During the term she'd not sleep early enough, would sometimes space out during class (as informed by teacher, but luckily never fallen asleep.. yet), and sleep too much at grandma's after school, where she'd not be able to sleep early again when night comes.
This is compounded when there is a sibling in the same room, and both tend to wake or keep awake each other!
Ugh!
jlow,
I know what you mean. It's a vicious cycle.
I hope to start with no nap the day before so that he will sleep early and wake up early the next day. This plan, I'm sure you know, has no guarantee what-so-ever. Lol!
