Fathers Day celebration.

This year I thought we'd get Gadget-daddy something more meaningful. It took Mommy three hours in the wee hours of the night, while the boys were asleep, to get out it all together. While I was working on this Gadget-daddy was spending his last night in Jakarta for this trip. Another one on it's way. (Sigh...)

Putting it together:

Getting into positions....

And, after a visit to the framing shop....
.... (drum roll, please)...

Ta-Dah!

Micah also brought this gift back from school:

Happy Fathers' Day, Gadget-daddy!

(oh, and we got Grandpa a tin of danish butter cookies.)

awwwww it's really sweet and VERY nicely done. You are definitely very crafty. I'm.. so not.. LOL

the kids made d cards in school, I bought him one, posted one to dad (albeit a bit late llol). D gave himself a father's day gift (works faster hehehe) and he got the flu on the day. It was interesting. LOL

You can see the love and thought that went into your gift btw :)

Hi Mommy on call, you sure have very innovative ideas, outstanding!
By the way, you didn't send the kids over to grandma's house, then get a bottle of Bubbly, red candles, lobster dinner at home with King prawns salad, soft Frank Sinatra singing in the background, lights turned down low....then whisper, "happy father's day"!
Ha ha, Lee.

Lia,

I guess it's something that my sisters and I picked up from school days, as young as kindy days we were taught to do craft and stuff. I've always enjoyed that.

Interesting that this "getting your own gift" does work quite well. Definitely works better for gadget-daddy if he wants to get anything techie. :)

ann,

there is hope. I have a friend whose husband is very artistically inclined, more than she is and so it works super for her that she gets all the nice hand-made stuff from him!
:)

u.lee,

Thanks, uncle Lee for your compliment and lovely suggestion. Usually celebrations like these involves the kids. So we kinds have the herd together.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Micah's birthday is also our wedding anniversary, so even for that, there's no escaping the herd... till he moves away for college or something!
Hahaha...
