"I had a great time, Mom!"
Micah greeted me at the door when I went to pick him up from school. That was real music to my ears!
According to his teacher he cried a little for a while, wanting me, but he was soon distracted and was ok again.
Micah also confess he cried a little for me, but then he stopped.
So it all seems well. Hope it stays so for as long as he has to go to school. :D
Micah was teacher's little assistant in the teeth-brushing demo.

Well done young man! You certainly have made Mummy proud, and I am sure Daddy too!
You will make new friends, learn new words and skills, new colloquialisms that your parents don't want you to use, be given lollies you weren't entitled to, fight with other humans you size, miss out on the usual activities you and your parents / guardians did during school hours, have laborious pencil to paper writing activities called homework which you will quickly dread... let's see what else.
Haha!
Caitlin this week has been declaring that she "doesn't like school". Not quite believing that was simply it, I dug further, and she says that she doesn't (specifically) like the gym class (I think it's just their fancy way of calling PE classes).
Haven't gotten to the bottom of things yet to know why that is so...
jlow,
Thanks. Mommy is proud. Just hope the excitement lasts.
:P
At present the school he goes to is a pretty small set up, maybe 12 students and 3 teachers. Pretty good for personal attention.
The teachers are very caring and well trained. 2 of them have been there for years and the third is doing he pre-school teacher's training.
The syllabus is a Montessori's base kind of teaching, so they mainly learn through play. Subjects are languages, math, living skills (something like that, a lot to do with motor-skills training), sensory learning and a little of geography and science. More practical, and (sorry, Caitlin, if your eyes are green) no homework. Everything is done in class, and there's a lot of one-to-one attention given.
YAY! well done MIcah!!!!!!!!
Since it's a familiar place, it does help. He's a good lad, kudos to mummy and daddy!
urgh, homework.. yes, Im going thru that with the Js now LOL
Sshhhh! Don't tell Caitlin!
hei...I'm really glad...since you were a bit worried how Micah would adjust without you...another hurdle cross for Micah...Well done!
lia,
I did figure that it'll be one thing less for him to cope with if it's already a familiar place and with familiar faces. But the second day the cried hysterically when I left him, but was all cheerful and excited when I picked him up. So that's good sign. :)

jlow,
well, next year we will put Micah in a more school-like kind of kindy, then he'll be in the same boat as Caitlin.
If it's any consolation for you, your girl is ahead. (not like it's a race or anything :D)
our journey...,
Thanks.
I think a lot of things will be easier, or so hope, after this as he is learning to be more independent.
Joked about this with some of the moms. Now they can't bear to leave you, then they'll hit their teen and don't want to be seen with you. Hahaha...
